How does Mega Estimator Pro calculate filament weight?

The tool measures the volume and surface area of your uploaded STL, OBJ, or 3MF mesh, scales it to your target height, then approximates a shell from your wall thickness and adds the chosen infill percentage of the remaining inner volume. It multiplies the resulting plastic volume by the material density (PLA, PETG, ABS, or TPU) to produce mass in grams.

Is the print time estimate accurate?

The estimator divides total extruded plastic volume by the flow rate you supply (in mm³/s) to give a first-order print time. It does not account for travel moves, acceleration limits, or cooling pauses, so treat it as a planning estimate rather than a slicer-grade prediction.

Which file formats are supported?

STL (binary and ASCII), OBJ, and 3MF files are supported. All processing happens locally in your browser; no files are uploaded to a server.

Can I switch currencies and electricity rates?

Yes. Choose between GBP, USD, EUR, CAD, and AUD. Selecting a currency auto-fills a regional kWh average, which you can override at any time.
